Tangowine is an apple with very dark red skin, and red-streaked flesh. It was discovered as a seedling by Charlie Stultz in Havelock, New Brunswick, in the 1960s. To my knowledge, it has not been grown commercially widely outside of New Brunswick, and I am excited to offer it through my nursery.

It is great fresh, but is said to be a good candidate for dehydrating, because it does not brown quickly after slicing.

Disease resistance:

Resistant to apple scab.
