Plastic trunk guard

Spiral trunk guards are very useful for protecting trees from rabbits and voles. To be used from October through April/May.

I strongly recommend removing them during the warmer months, as they are not only unnecessary during these seasons, but they provide protective places for insects that may damage your tree and open your tree to infections. Also, if left on for years in a row they risk girdling or constricting the tree's trunk. I have seen many fruit trees at client's homes that are severely damaged from trunk guards left on for years!
